My Closet

So I really like fashion and I love that I have a job that I can mix fun pieces and business formal fashion together. So I thought it might be fun to post pictures of my outfits that I wear to work for other fashion lovers and maybe get some new ideas. Most of my outfits aren't too exciting but I don't think I've worn an outfit to work yet that I haven't had fun wearing or gotten a complement on, which really does wonders for ones self esteem. Anyway at my job we don't have many strict rules on what to wear so it's easy to get away with somethings that might not fly at a corporate office.

An example of this would be my first outfit. It's pretty causal but very trendy. Right now colored and designed tights are in and being seen everywhere. I personally love tights because they are so fun and they can be used as an accent or an accessory to any outfit. I chose these tights because my top has a maroon color in it and the design on the tights just adds a little more fun. Then I added a thick brown belt to add a little dimension and waistline to the dress. Then to finish off the look I wore a very cool wooden necklace and peal earnings. And I'm not seen here with any shoes on but if I wasn't working I would have worn my cowgirl boots but for work I opted for a brown suede knee high flat boot.

This next outfit is a little more formal than the one above but still young, fun, and work appropriate. The main piece that I'm wearing can actually be worn as a sundress or a swimming suit coverup. I love the pattern and colors on this so I wear it as a dress. Then I have these dark purple tights (yes tights again!) that I thought would go perfect with the purple is the dress, so I threw those on too. Next, I knew I couldn't wear just the dress because it's strapless and we can't wear strapless, so I tried on a bunch of sweater cardigans but my black blazer ended up looking the best and was a bit more professional than a cardigan. I love blazers because they can add a touch of business formal to any outfit. My next decision was, do I wear this with a belt or not??? I couldn't decide so I took a picture with both options. And looking looking back at these two pictures I still think it looks good both ways. However I ended up deciding on wearing the belt. I thought it helped add a waistline and tied in with the blazer. I just used my regular black leather belt and then just turned it around so you couldn't see the silver buckle part. Normally I'm a big jewelry person but for this outfit I kept it simple with no necklace but just a pair of pearl earnings and a black watch. Again you can't see my shoes but I just threw on a pair of flats, which is usually what I wear because heels can get a little tiring to be in all day long. And that's outfits 1 & 2! :)
